First and foremost, I am nowhere near an expert in skincare. I’m an amateur at best, who happens to read about product ingredients obsessively. A dermatologist will always have more accurate recommendations for your personal skin health than strangers on the internet. The best I can do for you is explain some of the more complicated parts of skincare in layman’s terms (hopefully) and tell you what products have made a difference in my skin. If you’re dealing with serious skin issues, please see a professional.

I will never accept money in exchange for a favorable review of an item. I may occasionally receive promotional items for review, but will always be 100% honest with my opinions on these items, and all items received from PR kits will be clearly marked in the post.

I’m a member of BzzAgent, Influenster, and PinchMe, and will occasionally post about products I receive from these companies but all posts are clearly marked as sponsored.

Finally, I use affiliate links on this website. Essentially, that means that if you click on a product I’ve linked on my blog and purchase it, I might make a small commission on that purchase (depending on the timeframe and retailer). All affiliate links are clearly marked as such.

This is a way for me to maintain the blog and continue to test products I otherwise wouldn’t be able to purchase on my own. If you want to learn more about affiliate links, the blog SimplyVicki breaks down the process and some of the big questions really well.

YMMV

You may see me use this acronym from time to time. It stands for Your Mileage May Vary and is an important thing to keep in mind when thinking about skincare purchases.

Every person is unique and reacts differently to different products. Something that might be a holy grail to me might be absolute garbage for you, and vice versa. This is why patch testing is incredibly important when it comes to skincare; it gives you a chance to see if your skin will react badly to a product or not.

Ultimately, I can’t tell you which products you should or shouldn’t buy. I can tell you how my skin reacts to a product, and how I would imagine it would react to other skin types. But each person is different, and should expect to see some variation in results.
